| Environmental Audits |
The changing global scenario in terms of green manufacturing and increasing regulatory pressures is forcing industries to evaluate and address potential business and regulatory risks. We help such industries identify their environmental risks and enhance performance by saving on their resources like raw material, power, water, recommending cost effective waste handling and disposal solutions and also ensuring legal compliance. We also help corporates willing to go beyond mere statutory compliance and setting benchmarks in areas of product stewardship, green supply chain management, etc.

|
| Environmental Due Diligence |
Environmental due diligence is an effective tool for companies who intend to participate in greenfield production, brownfield acquisition, merger or a sell off. It helps understand the potential liabilities arising out of environmental issues and the costs associated with avoiding or minimizing such liabilities. This understanding helps in planning these measures or leveraging during negotiations. The audit principles adopted are generally in line with the guidelines of World Bank/ International Finance Corporation (IFC)/ ASTM (E1527) / ISO 14015. This enables both sellers and buyers to make informed decisions.

| Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) and Environmental Management Plan (EMP) |
Environmental impact assessments are an integral part of present day developmental projects. They are required by regulatory authorities, funding agencies or as part of corporate responsibility. Detailed impact prediction and analysis is carried out as per national or international guidelines (MoEF, WB, ADB, etc.). The EMP, in line with national and international guidelines provides an appropriate prevention and mitigation plan to overcome the negative environmental impacts and possibly strengthen the positive ones. We also offer technical support to clients to present the reports to regulatory authorities on their behalf as part of the environmental clearance process.

| Environmental Management Systems as per ISO 14001 |
Establishment of an EMS as per ISO 14001 has proved effective for large number of organizations to improve their environmental performance. In most cases, better environmental performance has resulted in significant cost savings. Emphasis of the standard on continual improvement through objectives and targets, top management involvement, training and internal auditing has benefited organizations to effectively demonstrate their environmentally sustainable approach. The new version of 2004 adds improved dimension to the standard. We can assist organizations to evolve and align their EMS to derive maximum benefit from implementation.

| Management of Resources and Wastes |
Ineffective utilization of resources leads to waste. Examples are raw materials, water, power, etc. Conservation of fresh water and rainwater harvesting are contemporary approaches to conserving an important resource. We can assist organizations to tap the potential of such approaches.
Wastes that are generated despite prevention and minimization efforts
have to be treated and disposed off in the most effective manner. Sustainable practices of waste treatment and disposal will be increasingly preferred since improper disposals could lead to unforeseen liabilities in future. This includes Hazardous Wastes, industrial and domestic wastewater, air emissions, etc.
|
|
We can provide guidance in selecting appropriate and sustainable waste handling, treatment and disposal technologies.
|
|
Waste Audit is an effective tool to identify opportunities for pollution prevention, waste minimization, etc. We can assist client in identifying such opportunities through our extensive knowledge-base and research. Material substitution (hazardous materials by benign or less hazardous ones) is an important area which can also be addressed through the waste audit approach.
